Republicans got a huge win in the Senate on Tuesday. The Democrats tried to pass a $3.5 trillion spending package that would provide funds for Critical Race Theory to be taught in public schools.
However, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) introduced the Stop CRT Act to prevent these funds from going toward the teaching of CRT.
According to The Epoch Times, Cotton said, “My amendment will ensure that federal funds aren’t used to indoctrinate children as young as pre-K to hate America…Our future depends on the next generation of kids loving America and loving each other as fellow citizens, no matter their race.”
The amendment passed with a vote of 51-49 and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) was the only Democrat to vote in favor of the anti-CRT amendment.
