President Trump says State Senator Doug Mastriano is the best man to be the next governor of Pennsylvania.
“There is no one in Pennsylvania who has done more, or fought harder, for Election Integrity than State Senator Doug Mastriano,” the former president said about the retired colonel.
“He will also Fight Violent Crime, Strengthen our Borders, Protect Life, Defend our under-siege Second Amendment, and Help our Military and our Vets. He is a fighter like few others, and has been with me right from the beginning, and now I have an obligation to be with him,” Trump said.
A Fox News poll released Tuesday showed Mastriano with a lead of 12 percentage points over his closest primary rival, former Representative Lou Barletta.
Barletta said in a statement that he believes Trump will endorse him once he wins the GOP primary on Tuesday.
“Throughout this campaign I have proved that I’m the best Republican to unite the Republican Party and defeat Josh Shapiro, and I will continue unifying our grass-roots conservatives towards our shared goal,” Barletta said.

Mastriano has long been an outspoken supporter of Trump and was summoned to appear before the Democrat-controlled House committee investigating the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
