Vice President Kamala Harris (D) admitted there is a “level of malaise” among Americans, sparking comparisons to former President Jimmy Carter.
Up until the interview with PBS’ “News Hour” Thursday, President Biden had been compared to Carter.
“COVID, for example, no doubt, we’re all…everybody’s frustrated with that,” she told host Judy Woodruff. “And I understand and fully appreciate there is a level of malaise, wherein two years into this thing, people are, we want to get back to normal, we all do.”

Many were quick to point out the phrase used by Carter in a 1979 speech while the country was plagued with similar issues.
“This is more and more like the Carter administration every day,” Tim Murtaugh, former Trump 2020 communications director, tweeted.
“Also, does no one ever share the messaging points with the @VP?” he added. “Everyone else in the White House claims things are going great. Harris is never on the same page no matter what the issue is.”
