Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake shot back after a reporter claimed “a lot of people of color feel like they are unfairly targeted by police.”

Lake, a former journalist herself, asked the reporter to repeat the part about the race.
“How many people of color have you talked to about that?” Lake asked.
“I mean, if you look at surveys,” he said.
“Which surveys? I’m happy to look at those stats because I will tell you this. That I talk to people of color. I talk to all Arizonans,” Lake said in response. “They’re all concerned about the crime.”
Lake also said it’s a “lie perpetuated by the Left” that police target people of color.

Abe Hamadeh, the Republican nominee for Arizona attorney general, also responded during the press conference.
“Look behind us. You’re acting as if it’s one race that’s joining the law enforcement agencies…they’re not targeting people based on race,” Hamadeh, a former Maricopa County prosecutor and former Army Reserve intelligence officer, said.
