Conservative talk show host Larry Elder is running for president in 2024.
The 71-year-old conservative talk show host made the announcement on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Thursday night.
In the hours leading up to the announcement, Elder sent out a tweet, that he would be making an announcement on Carlson’s show.
Today on @TuckerCarlson, I’ll have announcement. Please watch!#WeveGotACountryToSave— Larry Elder (@larryelder) April 20, 2023
Elder said that he is pro-life, doesn’t believe America is racist, wants secure borders, wants the U.S. to be energy independent, and wants to fix urban schools.
“I’m announcing that I’m running for the presidency of the United States on your program,” Elder told Carlson. “And thank you so much for giving me this honor and this platform.”
Elder gave the reason for running to his family members who have all served in the military.
“I’m the only one who didn’t serve, and I don’t feel good about that,” Elder said. “I feel I have a moral, a religious, and a patriotic duty to give back to a country that’s been so good to my family and to me. And that is why I’m doing this.”
Elder’s slogan which is now pasted across his website is #WeHaveaCountrytoSave.
