A large majority of Democrats approve of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s heavy hand against the Freedom Convoy truckers, according to a new survey.
The Convention of States Action, in partnership with The Trafalgar Group, found that 65.7 percent of Democrat voters approve of Trudeau’s handling of the protests after he invoked the Emergencies Act, including freezing bank accounts of supporters.
Just 17 percent of Democrats said they disapprove of the tyrannical actions taken by Trudeau.
A majority of voters, 55.3 percent, disapprove and 35 percent approve.
Nearly three in four Independent voters disapprove with 20.8 percent approving, and 87.3 percent Republicans disapprove and only 8.1 percent approve.
The survey was conducted from Feb. 18-20 from 1,000 likely 2022 election voters.
Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action, called the results shocking.
“Prime Minister Trudeau’s heavy-handed tactics to squash peaceful protests in Canada have shocked freedom-loving people around the world,” Meckler said in a statement. “However, Americans will be equally stunned to learn from these numbers that 65 percent of Democrats actually support the tyranny happening right before our eyes, and 17 percent have not even heard about one of the most consequential stories of 2022.”
He added that the media’s lack of reporting or, in some cases, false reporting contributed to Democrats supporting the tyrannical government in Canada.
“If we want to avoid totalitarianism in our own country, the people must be given the truth,” Meckler concluded. “This is shameful and horrifying.”
