A majority of voters are opposed to President Biden’s vaccine mandates for businesses and support governors fighting against it, according to a new poll.
The Convention of States Action, in partnership with The Trafalgar Group, found that 58.6 percent of voters do not believe Biden has the constitutional authority to force private businesses to require vaccine mandates for employees. Only 29.7 percent believe he does have authority, while 11.7 percent said they are not sure.
Republicans (83%) and Independents (68%) overwhelmingly said Biden doesn’t have the authority while a majority of Democrats (54%) said he does.
With similar numbers, 56.1 percent of American voters support the efforts of state governors to oppose Biden’s nationwide vaccine mandate on private businesses.
“The numbers are clear, the American people passionately oppose Biden’s vaccine mandate, and will not tolerate a President elected by the people acting like a dictator or king,” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action. “They know full well that this precedent will quickly lead to an end to our Republic and the beginning of an oppressive new tyranny.”
Meckler added: “Our citizens stand squarely with courageous, principled governors who know this isn’t about health, science, or compassion, it’s a naked political power grab.”
The surveys were conducted from Sept. 10-12 over 1,000 likely 2022 midterm election voters.
