Mario Lopez, the incoming co-host of Access Hollywood, told conservative commentator Candace Owens that it’s dangerous for parents to label young children as transgender.
Instead of being celebrated as one of the few sane voices in Hollywood, a mob of sex and gender revolutionaries is calling for the beloved celebrity to be fired. Lopez was a guest on The Candace Owens Show where he discussed “this new trend where celebrities are coming out … and saying that their child is picking their gender.”
“Look, I’m never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids, obviously, and I think if you come from a place of love, you really can’t go wrong,” he said. “But at the same time, my God, if you’re 3 years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way, or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make that determination then — ‘Okay, well then you’re going to be a boy or a girl,’ whatever the case may be. It’s sort of alarming and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on,” he said.
A rational response, right?
Insider Say Lopez Could Be Fired
Well, all you-know-what-broke loose in Hollywood as stars of stage and screen accused Lopez of being transphobic.
Numerous Hollywood media blogs are reporting that Lopez could be fired for upsetting the sex and gender revolutionaries.
“The execs at NBC held an emergency meeting yesterday to discuss Mario’s future with the show because they do not see how they can just let this fly,” a source told RadarOnline.com.
It did not seem to matter that Lopez offered an apology to People magazine.
“The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were,” he said. “I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful.”
RadarOnline.com reports that NBC insiders may be unmoved.
“His apology really meant nothing at all,” an insider told the website. “All it does is solidify that he was aware that his comments were transphobic and hurtful.”
Activists Want to Expose Toddlers to Sex & Gender Lessons
I’m not surprised that militant LGBT activists want to destroy a man because he believes that three-year-olds have no business being exposed to concepts like sex education.
As I wrote in “Culture Jihad,” our society has been overrun by a small, but vocal crowd of people who are hell-bent on advancing a perverse notion that small children, even toddlers, should be exposed to lessons on sex and gender.
That’s why the sex and gender revolutionaries have unleashed a cartoon army of penguins and unicorns to help socially re-engineer what God has already hardwired in the minds of innocent youngsters.
A good many of the gay listeners in my radio show audience are just as appalled about this movement as the rest of us. And they, too, believe such matters should be dealt with on an age-appropriate basis.
But no one wants to speak out these days because they are afraid of the cultural lynching that comes along with taking a stand on basic common decency. Just ask Mario Lopez.
