Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday shot down calls from within his own party to try to impeach President Biden, pointing to next year’s midterm election as a potential check on the administration.
“Well, look, the president is not going to be removed from office. There’s a Democratic House, a narrowly Democratic Senate. That’s not going to happen,” McConnell said in Kentucky.
“There isn’t going to be an impeachment,” he added.
National radio host Todd Starnes blasted McConnell as a quintessential Republican in Name Only.
“President Biden left American citizens behind enemy lines, he gave the enemy a taxpayer-funded military, and his disastrous evacuation plans led to the deaths of 13 service members,” Starnes said. “Not only should he be removed from office, but there’s a good argument to made that his actions constitute acts of treason.”
