Tom Nichols, The Atlantic contributing writer, attacked the GOP as “kooks and opportunists” that have divided the country to benefit Putin.
“There are a group of right-wing Republicans who think of Putin as this kind of white Christian savior of civilization with whom we could make some sort of, link arms and make a sort of common defense against the Islamic world and against the encroachment of, you know, left-wing civilization, the drag queens and the gays and the vegans and spelling reformers, and the other boogeymen of the American right.”
