President Obama’s new production company picked up its first Academy Award – winning an Oscar for a documentary called “American Factory.”
It’s the story of a shuttered General Motors plant in Ohio that’s re-opened by Chinese investors.

The filmmakers celebrated their big night in Hollywood by quoting Karl Marx in their acceptance speech – calling for the workers of the world to unite.
“Working people have it harder and harder these days — and we believe that things will get better when workers of the world unite,” co-director Julie Reichert said.
It’s probably not that much of a surprise that the Obama’s would associate themselves with filmmakers who paraphrase “The Communist Manifesto.”
But what is surprising – according to Republican Congressman Mike Turner – is that the movie does not mention the former president’s role in GM workers losing their jobs.
The Ohio factory was run by a rival union to the United Auto Workers. As part of a deal with the UAW – the employees were basically put out on the street.
President Obama once said that he wanted to fundamentally transform our nation. Based on Marxist leanings of his production company – I wonder if that’s what he had in mind for the rest of us.
