House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is getting slammed for racism Friday after she said illegal immigrants are needed in Florida “to pick the crops.”

Pelosi made the comment as she called for “comprehensive immigration reform” after she was asked if the border was secure, as Vice President Kamala Harris recently claimed.
“We have a shortage of workers in our country, and you see even in Florida, some of the farmers and the growers saying ‘why are you shipping these immigrants up North? We need them to pick the crops down here.'”

National radio host Todd Starnes told listeners Friday Democrats “don’t hide their racism.”

“Say what you will about the Democrats, they’ve been consistently concerned throughout their history about who we’re gonna get to pick the crops,” Republican pollster Logan Dobson tweeted.
“She’s so oblivious to her very racist statement,” one user said.

More than 2.1 million illegals have crossed the border this year, including more than 200,000 in August alone, Fox News reports.
