President Trump Says Democrats, Mainstream Media Are Weaponizing Coronavirus

President Trump lashed out at the Mainstream Media and the Democrats – accusing them of weaponizing the Coronavirus for political gain.

“The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation, far beyond what the facts would warrant. Surgeon General, ‘The risk is low to the average American,'” the president wrote on Twitter.

More Americans Have the Flu

Dr. Andrew Fabich, a professor of microbiology at Truett-McConnell University, said what’s missing in all of the hype and sensationalism is perspective.

“What most people are unaware of is that the flu has been averaging between 9 and 45 million cases per year with 12,000 to 61,000 deaths per year since 2010,” he wrote on the university’s website. “But are you as scared about getting the flu or are you more scared about getting COVID-19? When put in proper perspective, you can see that this COVID-19 is not as bad as the headlines are making it.  I’m not aware of anyone who buys a surgical mask for the flu every year (on top of that, viruses are smaller than the holes found in those surgical masks and renders masks useless).”

For the past several months I’ve been warning listeners on my radio show that Democrats and the Mainstream Media would weaponize the virus to tank the economy in an effort to sabotage President Trump’s re-election bid.

Media Touts Political Damage Caused by Virus

Consider this headline from Breitbart: “Rahm Emanuel: Coronavirus Could Be ‘Devastating’ for Trump Reelection Bid.”

Ross Douthat, a Never Trump columnist for The New York Times wrote a column titled, “The Coronavirus is Coming for Trump’s Presidency.”

“The coronavirus seems very likely to doom Trump’s re-election effort, no matter where he casts the blame,” he wrote.

So it’s possible that what we are actually dealing with is not so much an apocalyptic plague, as much as it is a political plague. America is reeling from a massive outbreak of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
