Radio Host on FBI Radar After Posting ‘We Kill JD Vance’
The former host of a taxpayer-funded radio program is on the FBI’s radar after he called for the assassination of Vice President JD Vance, according to a Fox News exclusive.
The volunteer host on WUML Radio, which is managed by the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, resigned after posting on left-leaning social media platform Bluesky, “It’s simple, we kill JD Vance.”
Writing under the username hanslopez.bsky.social, the death-related comment was made in response to another online user who said, “JD VANCE THINKS BRITAIN & FRANCE ARE AMERICAS [sic] LIKELY ENEMIES,” Townhall reported.

UM Lowell has since brought the post to the attention of authorities.
“UMass Lowell police promptly coordinated with the FBI, Secret Service and Haverhill police the same day to ensure an appropriate response,” the school said. “Contact was made with the individual in question, and the necessary assessments were conducted in collaboration with federal partners. Authorities confirmed there was no immediate threat.”
The university noted the host was an alumnus of UMass Lowell. His post has been removed, and the entire account was suspended.
“UMass Lowell takes seriously any threat of violence involving our community,” the school said. “Statements such as the post in question are inconsistent with the values of our democracy and our university.”
According to the radio network’s website, WUML “has, for over six decades, given a voice to both the student body of UMass Lowell, and the greater Lowell community. Founded in 1952, WUML functions as a non-commercial FM station … fully managed and operated by student members.”
Patriot Switchboard conservative host Harlan Mercer said on X, “Calling for a VP’s death isn’t speech, it’s a threat. Zero tolerance. Resign, investigate, and enforce the law.
