Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is throwing his support behind Dr. Manny Sethi in a hotly contested U.S. Senate race in Tennessee.
“We’re looking for Manny Sethi to have one of the biggest upsets in the country,” Paul said on the Todd Starnes Show.
Sethi, a pro-life Christian and a trauma surgeon, is facing off against Dr. George Flinn and Bill Hagerty.
“Manny Sethi is the real conservative in this race,” said Paul, who will be speaking at a Sethi campaign event Saturday in Nashville.
Even though Hagerty has the backing of President Trump, Paul said that polling shows the race is Republican primary is extremely close.
And the Kentucky senator urged Tennessee conservatives to send a message to the GOP and the nation.
“Tennessee is too conservative of a state to keep sending Democrats in Republican clothing. Send us a conservative,” he said.
