Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) is calling for Attorney General Merrick Garland’s removal after a whistleblower within the Biden administration testified Tuesday that Garland lied to Congress.
In October, Garland told the House Judiciary Committee that parents, who protest school board meetings, are not being treated as domestic terrorists by the FBI.
But an email sent to House Republicans by a whistleblower revealed the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division is engaged in categorizing threat assessments relating to parents with a “threat tag,” The Federalist reported.
“Merrick Garland is either untruthful or incompetent. Either way, it is why I dropped articles of impeachment on [him],” said Perry, who is also the chairman-elect of the House Freedom Caucus.
Further, the email referenced Garland’s October 4 directive to the FBI to ramp up its involvement in school board threats, according to The DailyMail.
“Justice is supposed to be blind. But it is very apparent we don’t need to call it the Department of Justice; it’s the Democrat Department of Justice, where they weaponize the most powerful organization of the federal government against… moms and dads that are speaking out at school board meetings,” he added.
