We hear a lot from Democrats about how women are treated unfairly, be it in home or workplace. Well, one area where liberals don’t seem to have a problem of women getting robbed is in sports. Federal legislation known as the Equality Act would make it so that boys who think they are girls can compete against biological females.
“Once again women are being used in order to advance a liberal agenda, and that’s what this is really about,” Representative Vicky Hartzler (R-Missouri) said Thursday on The Todd Starnes Show. “This is advancing the LGBTQ agenda, and they’re using women in order to try to get this accomplished but it’s actually going to be devastating for women.”
Hartzler knows a thing or two about sports. In addition to being a high school athlete, she was a track coach for six years.
“It looks to me like ultimately this is a war on women,” chimed in Starnes.
“I agree, and that’s why I wrote an op-ed in The Hill saying this is going to be the death of women’s rights,” Hartzler said. “If girls want to play sports, they should just be able to enjoy it and focus on their own physical goals and set goals and not have to worry about a man or a boy wanting to come in and shower in the same locker room.”
That’s another problem with the Equality Act or ‘Inequality Act’ as Hartzler called the bill. The legislation, which passed the House and awaits Senate approval, would allow people to use the restrooms and changing rooms of the opposite sex. Meanwhile, medical professionals would be forced to provide hormone treatments to children who want to “transition” to the opposite sex.
“You have to provide a sex change operation for those children and if you refuse to do that, you could have your medical license taken away,” Hartzler pointed out. “Hopefully, Mitch McConnell and the Senate will not take up the bill, but there is some concern that legislators will try to put this language in a must pass bill of some sort, and we’ve got to let the senators know that this is not something Americans want.”
