Six-year-olds at a British primary school were told to write gay love letters to promote diversity.

The assignment given to children at Bewsey Lodge Primary School – known for its teachings on diversity in sexual education.

The youngsters were told to imagine themselves in the role of Prince Henry. Prince Henry wants to profess his love for his man servant – a guy named Thomas. So the children had to write love letters.

Teacher Sarah Hopson says if children learn acceptance at an early age – they will be more accepting when they get older. It’s sort of like brainwashing.

“They are going to go out into that world and find this diversity around them and they’ll find that at a young age as well,” Hopson told BBC. “And the more they can be accepting at this age, you are not going to face it further on because the children will be accepting now and will be accepting this diversity around them.”

It’s a wonder the teachers have time for lessons on reading and math and science – what with all the love notes and what-not.

Headteacher Emma Wright defended the gay love assignment and accused critics of sexualizing the content of their curriculum.
“What we are trying to achieve is a culture of acceptance and respect — put simply, live and let live,” she said. “We teach about love and that love comes in all shapes and sizes. What we are trying to achieve is that children leave us, armed with enough information to make their own informed choices, children who can look at another person’s life/situation and say, ‘This is different to my life or the way I feel or think but that’s OK.'”

The only folks guilty of sexualizing the curriculum are the people who run that school. Quite frankly, any educator who advocates for teaching first graders how to write gay or straight love notes does not belong in the classroom.
