NOTE FROM TODD: It’s vitally important for us to support religious liberty law firms that are out there on the front lines defending our freedom. Alliance Defending Freedom is doing an amazing job as documented below. They’ve taken cases all the way to the Supreme Court and they’ve won. And ADF doesn’t charge their clients a single penny. This month I’m raising money to help ADF keep fighting the good fight. Click here to join me in that effort and become a CHAMPION FOR FREEDOM!
Moments after Rep. Kevin McCarthy was booted out of the Speaker’s chair, Rep. Matt Gaetz suggested his replacement could be someone who is not in Congress. And a growing number of his colleagues have a specific person in mind: former President Donald Trump.
“This week, when the U.S. House of Representatives reconvenes, my first order of business will be to nominate Donald J. Trump for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives,” said Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX). “President Trump, the greatest President of my lifetime, has a proven record of putting America First and will make the House great again.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene also suggested that former President Trump would make the speakership great again. Click here to pre-order Todd’s new book, “Twilight’s Last Gleaming: Can America Be Saved?”
“The only candidate for Speaker I am currently supporting is President Donald J. Trump,” Greene posted late in the evening. “He will end the war in Ukraine. He will secure the border. He will end the politically weaponized government. He will make America energy independent again. He will pass my bill to stop transgender surgeries on kids and keep men out of women’s sports. He will support our military and police. And so much more!”
“He has a proven 4 year record as President of the United States of America. He received a record number of Republican votes of any Republican Presidential candidate! We can make him Speaker and then elect him President! He will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” she concluded.
Talk radio host Sean Hannity says his sources say there is an effort underway to draft the former president to be the next Speaker.
“I have been told President Trump might be open to helping the Republican party at least in the short term,” Hannity said.
“He’d be great… I want him at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue but if he wants to be Speaker, that’s fine too,” said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) when asked about the rumors.
Others rumored for the post include Jordan, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX).
