The following is an adapted excerpt from Todd Starnes’ monologue Monday.

It was an honor to have dinner next to the President of the United States. That would be Donald Trump not Joe Biden.

And I had a chance to talk to the president on two separate occasions down there.

The president was seated next to us. At least two times, the president came over and he said, ‘hello’ and how much he enjoyed reading my column.

As a matter of fact, I said, Mr. President, our listeners love you. They love you, Mr. President. And he smiled and gave me a punch on the shoulder, then came back and we had another great conversation.

I gotta tell you something. The man looks rejuvenated. He looks refreshed.

You know how people, these presidents when they go to the White House, they’re in office for four years, eight years, and they come out looking like death warmed over. I mean Barack Obama looks like he’s what, 80?

But Donald Trump looks the same — actually, he looks younger than when he entered the White House.

I guess he thrives on the stress of the job…He just looked happy. He looked healthy…the president and the first lady were just happy.

I think he could [run again] and I think he is ready. I think President Trump, he sees what’s happening to the country…the president told us this was going to happen.

My takeaway from this weekend?

I hope he does run again because I think this guy, I think Donald Trump has the energy. I think he has the stamina. I think he has the determination to beat those Democrats and save this country from the throes of socialism. `
