STARNES: Rep. Boebert Was Right to Rebuke President Biden

President Biden committed an egregious omission during his State of the Union Address. The president failed to honor the 13 American service members who were killed in Afghanistan.

He mentioned the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan facing exposure to toxic substances.

Was Lauren Boebert Right to Rebuke Biden?

“Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan faced many dangers,” he said. “When they came home, many of the world’s fittest and best-trained warriors were never the same: Headaches, numbness, dizziness, a cancer that would put them in a flag-draped coffin.”

But in reality – those 13 service members lost their lives because of his administration’s failed exit strategy.

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert decided that she could not let that awful terrible slight go unaddressed.

So she shouted from her seat in the House Chamber – interrupting the president’s speech.

She rightly pointed out that he alone was responsible for their deaths.

“When Biden said flag draped coffins I couldn’t stay silent. I told him directly he did it. He put 13 in there,” she tweeted after the address.

Democrats and the media were enraged — accusing her of a breach of decorum.

You heckled remarks about burn pit exposure, an urgent health issue for post 9/11 veterans,” CNN’s Brianna Keilar snarled. “You can’t honor the memory of 13 service members killed in action by disrespecting the memory and suffering of countless others who have and will be affected by burn pit exposure.”

“In a different era, a congresswoman shouting and heckling the president at the SOTU while he was talking about US soldiers killed in action – and was about to invoke his own dead son – would be widely condemned across the political spectrum,” wrote CNN’s Jake Tapper. “Starting with her caucus leader.”

Jake Tapper and Brianna Keilar are full of fertilizer, folks.

They know that Boebert was not heckling the president’s reference to his dead son. This is why not even liberals can tolerate the vile excrement that spews from CNN’s airwaves.

I believe it was President Biden, in this instance, who breached decorum by ignoring the fallen American heroes and failing to apologize for the catastrophic evacuation of Afghanistan.

And Congresswoman Boebert was the one Republican in that chamber who had the courage to call him out.

The rebuke was completely justified. It was a moment that demanded righteous indignation.
