Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is facing national mockery after he questioned former President Trump’s manhood and wondered aloud if the Trump campaign has a “foot fetish.”
The comments came during an interview on Newsmax amid national curiosity about the Republican governor’s stature and whether he wears lifts in his cowboy boots.
“This is no time for foot fetishes. We’ve got serious problems as a country,” DeSantis said.
“I know Donald Trump and a lot of his people have been focusing on things like footwear. I’ll tell you this. You know, if Donald Trump can summon the balls to show up to the debate, I’ll wear a boot on my head,” he went on.
The DeSantis campaign began selling golf balls with the slogan, “Ron DeSantis has a pair — he shows up” in a direct taunt at the GOP frontrunner.
“This is a time for substance,” DeSantis said. “This is a time for us to debate the issues that matter to the American people. And the question is are you able to fight for them.”
The Trump campaign returned fire.
“Rob DeSanctimonious has been completely emasculated for wearing high-heeled man-booties and is now a political eunuch. He’s the last person who should be talking about balls,” Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump told The Post in response.
