Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) went viral for the first few seconds of his 2024 presidential campaign.
The Republican Senator, appointed by his rival former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in 2013, had a “Howard Dean” moment.
“Hello, North Charleston!” Scott screamed as his voice cracked.
Many on social media pointed out the similarity to former Gov. Howard Dean’s (D-VT) viral moment in 2004 called the “Dean scream.”
“Tim Scott’s campaign announcement has the same energy as Howard Dean in 2004. #Election2024,” one Twitter user said.
Former President Trump, the frontrunner in the GOP primary, posted a positive message to Scott.
“Good luck to Senator Tim Scott in entering the Republican Presidential Primary Race,” Trump wrote. “It is rapidly loading up with lots of people, and Tim is a big step up from Ron DeSanctimonious, who is totally unelectable. I got Opportunity Zones done with Tim, a big deal that has been highly successful. Good luck Tim!”
