Trump: ‘I Absolutely Love MTG, But…’

President Trump delivered a gentle rebuke of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after she moved earlier today to vacate the Speaker’s Chair. Her efforts to oust Speaker Mike Johnson failed after Democrats joined Republicans to table the motion.

“I absolutely love Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post. “She’s got Spirit, she’s got Fight, and I believe she’ll be around, and on our side, for a long time to come.”

“However, right now, Republicans have to be fighting the Radical Left Democrats, and all the Damage they have done to our Country,” he added. “With a Majority of One, shortly growing to three or four, we’re not in a position of voting on a Motion to Vacate.”

Johnson welcomed the news that Democrats had saved his job.

“Hopefully, this is the end of the personality politics and the frivolous character assassination that has defined the 118th Congress,” Johnson said. “It’s regrettable, it’s not who we are as Americans, and we’re better than this. We need to get beyond it.”

That doesn’t necessarily mean that Trump is sold out on the troubled Speaker.

“At some point, we may very well be, but this is not the time,” he said, referring to a Motion to Vacate.

“We are leading in the Presidential Polls by a lot, both Nationally and in the Swing States. Likewise, we are doing well in the Senate, and I believe will do well in the House,” Trump wrote. “But if we show DISUNITY, which will be portrayed as CHAOS, it will negatively affect everything! Mike Johnson is a good man who is trying very hard. I also wish certain things were done over the last period of two months, but we will get them done, together.”

Lawmakers abided by Trump’s request to table Greene’s motion.

President Trump is right. We cannot be distracted by Speaker Johnson’s behavior. We have more important issues at hand.

But there will come a time when Speaker Johnson will be forced to explain why he did not stop Democrats from funding late term abortion facilities and programs for transgender children. He will also need to explain why he refused to defund the Justice Dept. even though they are actively targeting pro-life Christians.

Johnson professes to be a born-again Christian and that makes his decision-making all the more curious. Click here to read Todd’s best-selling book on how to save America.

Do you agree with President Trump's position that it's not the right time to oust Speaker Johnson?
