Trump made the comments to NewsNation ahead of Election Day results in which some of his highest-profile candidates did not do well, like Mehmet Oz and others.
“Tonight, win or lose, how much of that will be because of Donald Trump?” the reporter asked.

National radio host Todd Starnes said the blame can’t be placed fully on the former president.
“I don’t think what happened yesterday was about Trump,” Starnes said. “Trump was not on the ballot…I place the blame squarely on Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy.”
On Truth Social, Trump called the night, notching “174 wins and 9 losses, A GREAT EVENING.”
