President Donald Trump said in the Oval Office on Thursday that he’ll support primary challenges against the Indiana Republicans who struck down a GOP-led congressional redistricting map.
“The Indiana Senate voted down a new map championed by Trump that would have created two more right-leaning congressional districts in the solidly red Midwestern state, where the GOP controls seven of Indiana’s nine U.S. House seats,” Fox News reported.
In a video shared by conservative commentator Eric Daugherty, a proposal to pass the map was defeated by 31-19, with 21 Republicans joining 10 Democrats voting against the redistricting. Click here for a list of the rogue Republicans.
The state’s Senate GOP leader Rod Bray was among Republicans who struck down the map.
“He’ll go down,” Trump said of Bray. “I’ll certainly support anybody that wants to go against him.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said “Bray enjoys being the only person in the United States of America who is against Republicans picking up extra seats.”
“Bray and his friends are the favorite Republicans of Hakeem Jeffries, Crazy Nancy Pelosi, and Cryin’ Chuck Schumer. Anybody that votes against Redistricting, and the SUCCESS of the Republican Party in D.C., will be, I am sure, met with a MAGA Primary in the Spring,” he added.

The measure in Indiana comes a week after the Supreme Court okayed Republican-controlled Texas to use its newly redrawn congressional map, which creates five more right-leaning seats.
As noted in The Hill, additional states are in the process of redrawing congressional lines.
“Kansas Republicans are considering revisiting the issue after reaching an impasse earlier this year, and Florida GOP lawmakers have already signaled they plan to redistrict, though their timeline on passing a new map remains unclear,” the outlet wrote.
Political advocacy group America First Works vowed to invest $1,000,000 in grassroots funding to support Trump’s agenda in Indiana.
“If these senators think they can sell out their voters and stay in power, they’re dreaming,” said AFW President Ashley Hayek. “Bray turned his back on Hoosiers and sold out President Trump and the America First movement.”
