A federal judge ordered the White House to immediately reinstate Jim Acosta’s press pass.
CNN’s White House correspondent had been given the heave-ho after an altercation with a female intern during a news conference.
The judge did not rule on the underlying case — alleging that CNN and Acosta’s First and Fifth Amendment rights were violated.

CNN called the ruling a great day for the First Amendment and journalism.
That’s debatable.
Jim Acosta routinely peppers his news reports with anti-Trump rhetoric and he consistently interrupts administration officials. It’s downright impolite.
The White House says they will abide by the judge’s order. However, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said there must be decorum at the White House.
But that’s unlikely to happen with the likes of Jim Acosta in the room.
Of course – there is another way to resolve the problem. Maybe it’s time for President Trump to just pull the plug on televised press briefings.
There’s no constitutional requirement that a press secretary has to be badgered by a bunch of bloviating buffoons.
