Trump Spox: Only a Matter of Time Before CNN Goes Down in Flames
The demise of the fake news media, especially CNN, is on its way, Liz Harrington, former President Trump’s spokeswoman, told the Todd Starnes Show.
Responding to news Wednesday that Jeff Zucker resigned in disgrace for failing to disclose a workplace relationship with another top-level CNN executive, Trump called him a “world-class sleazebag,” adding “congratulations to all.”
“President Trump got it exactly right, and it’s only a matter of time before the entire network goes down in flames,” Harrington told host Todd Starnes.
“Let’s be real, this was not the only reason,” she added. “Nobody watches CNN. The ratings are in the tank because they’ve lost the entire credibility of the American people. And it’s because of things like this.”
Harrington said the fake news media will get their “comeuppance” for deceiving the American people.
“These are the same people who lectured us for years claiming the moral high ground and then look at this place,” she said. “It is a cesspool. It is an absolute disaster. How many people have had to been fired or resigned just in the past couple of months over a sexual indiscretion or worse? I mean, you’ve had producers who worked for Chris Cuomo and Jake Tapper who got fired for pedophilia. I mean, allegations of that.”
Below is a rushed transcript from Liz Harrington’s interview on the Todd Starnes Show:
Starnes: [01:19:40] I am Todd Starnes and we are broadcasting live from our university, our Liberty University Studios here in Memphis, Tennessee. And we’re following this crazy story out of the world of cable news. President Trump summed it up very nicely when he called former CNN chief Jeff Zucker a sleazebag. Zucker is now out. He admitted that he had had an affair with a woman there at CNN. It was consensual. The The New York Post was reporting the woman involved the other woman, her name Allison Goldust. Alison Go. That is her name. She is accused of sleeping her way to a promotion at a lot of the employees, according to the New York Post. Are wondering, Wait, is there? Why does she still have a job? But I think it just goes to show you that CNN, for all they are, they are hypocrites and it is a scandal plagued network. And here they are President Trump. He warned us about all of this. He told us this was how this was all going to go down and he’s absolutely right again. Well, I want to go to the Patriot mobile newsmaker line. It is great to have back with us, our good friend and President Trump spokesperson Liz Harrington. Let’s hope you’re doing good today. [01:21:01][80.9]
Harrington: [01:21:02] Hey, Todd, I’m great. How are you? [01:21:04][1.7]
Starnes: [01:21:04] I am. Well, thank you, Les. And the president has a right to be a little gleeful today based on the news coming out of CNN. [01:21:13][8.8]
Harrington: [01:21:14] Yes, that’s right. And as only the president can sum it up, so well, congratulations to all. It really is a great day to see someone you know has to resign in disgrace. And because and let’s be real, this was not the only reason nobody watches CNN. The ratings are in the tank because they’ve lost the entire credibility of the American people. And it’s because of things like this. These are the same people who lectured us for years claiming the moral high ground and then look at this place. It is a cesspool. It is an absolute disaster. How many people have had to been fired or resigned just in the past couple of months over a sexual indiscretion or worse? I mean, you’ve had producers who worked for Chris Cuomo and Jake Tapper who got fired for pedophilia. I mean, allegations of that. So this is a good day because there is a comeuppance with the fake news media. President Trump got it exactly right, and it’s only a matter of time before the entire network goes down in flames. [01:22:29][75.1]
Starnes: [01:22:30] Now, Liz, we have to we have to stop talking about politics for a moment. We hear a little something in the background there. Can we tell everybody what, what’s been going on and Liz Harrington’s world? [01:22:40][10.4]
Harrington: [01:22:42] Yeah, I guess the cat’s out of the bag here because I’m trying to do a radio interview and she’s not letting me. That’s brilliant. Yes, I had me and my husband. We’re so blessed to have a baby girl. Born in December, December 17th. Her name is being released and we’re just over the Moon. So I’ve been on maternity leave and I’ve been getting back into things, doing interviews. But it’s good to be back on with you, Todd. [01:23:07][25.0]
Starnes: [01:23:08] Well, it’s it’s great to have you back with us and we are so excited for you and what a blessing. And you’re a great mom. I mean, you’re doing it all, and it’s just pretty awesome to me. It sounds like she’s going to have a career in media. [01:23:21][13.4]
Harrington: [01:23:24] Yeah. Yeah, you and you know, you know, she’s independent. I was on the phone with a good friend of mine, a person I work with quite often and say, she’s actually, you know, going down for a nap. You know, he’s fighting it. And he says, Well, that’s a good sign. That’s an independent spirit right there. [01:23:42][18.7]
Starnes: [01:23:43] There you go. There you go. Well, as before, we have to let you go. I would love for you to weigh in on the big rallies. The president has been having that one in Texas over the weekend. Just unbelievable the amount of people and the excitement. And I know a lot of folks are wondering when that big announcement is going to come. [01:24:00][17.4]
Harrington: [01:24:01] Well, as President Trump likes to say, he thinks she’ll be very happy, but that’s his announcement to make. But oh my goodness, incredible crowds in Florence, Arizona, and then in Conroe, Texas, last weekend, over 85000 people. I mean, unheard of in American politics. It was the biggest political rally in Texas history, and that just shows I mean, the people are hungry. They’re hungry for common sense. They’re hungry for President Trump’s leadership that we so desperately miss. Right now, I mean, the country is in a really bad position, but the good news is the American people are resilient. We are energized. We’re not going to go down with a fight. We’re going to hang on to our great country and the spirit there is this truly incredible and you can feel it. President Trump was in a great mood. I mean, he was so funny last Saturday during his speech. Even in these, you know, really troubled times, it’s just so good to have a real leader like that and to see that the American people, our movement is not going anywhere. In fact, [01:25:08][66.8]
Starnes: [01:25:10] it has grown literally and the Harrington household. So we have another young Trump supporter there. [01:25:15][5.3]
Harrington: [01:25:16] Well, babies for Trump, [01:25:17][0.8]
Starnes: [01:25:18] I love it. I love it. Well, it is. We’re going to let you get back to to the to the baby. And we we thank you so much for coming on and we’re just so excited and thankful for the great work you’re doing for the country. [01:25:29][11.1]
Harrington: [01:25:31] Oh, thank you so much, Todd. I really appreciate it. [01:25:33][1.9]
Starnes: [01:25:33] All right, Liz. Take care now. Liz Harrington, everybody, the president spokesperson and she I guess it was OK for us to ask at grace because you could hear the little you could hear the little one in the background. [01:25:43][10.3]
