TRUMP: There Should be Three Exceptions for Abortion

Former President Donald Trump issued a warning to Republicans as the new year approaches.

Trump, whose Supreme Court appointments helped to overturn Roe v. Wade, told Breitbart that if Republicans want to win going forward, they’re going to have to make exceptions on the topic of abortion.

With multiple achievements in the pro-life movement, Trump has been deemed by some as the most pro-life president in modern American history. However, the former president said that abortion is a “trap” set by Democrats.

Should there be exceptions for abortion?

The way to avoid it, he says, is compromising in a couple of areas. His exceptions for permitting abortion include incest, rape and the life of the mother. Trump said Republicans do not have a winning platform without these exceptions.

“If you don’t have the three exceptions, you’re destined to doom,” Trump said.

Trump announced his 2024 presidential run mere weeks ago, but he’s been weighing in on the state of the Republican party for much longer than that.

During the interview, Trump singled out failed Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano and Michigan gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon.

“I think if you don’t have the three exceptions, it’s almost impossible in most parts of the country to win,” Trump explained. “If you don’t have three exceptions—I said to a very nice man running for governor of Pennsylvania, ‘If you don’t have the three exceptions, you can’t win.’ Same thing with Tudor.”
