Marc Lotter, joined The Todd Starnes Show to discuss the importance of Republican voter turnout in the upcoming midterm election.
Noting that the Trump agenda would come to a screeching halt if Democrats took control of both chambers of Congress, the former spokesman for Vice President Mike Pence emphasized that judicial appointments would especially be at risk.
“Their base is angry, their motivated. Let’s remember to what that base now represents, you now have a party that has been taken over by socialists,” Lotter said. “Self-avowed socialists. And there was a poll out last week, that for the first time in history, more Democrats say they favor socialism than do favor capitalism. That’s a fundamentally shocking and scaring statistic, that we have got to make sure we get that drilled home because that’s where they’re going to.”
Lotter pointed out that in the recent special election in a historically solid Republican district in Ohio, the Republican won the race by less than 2000 votes.
“Every person’s vote counts,” he said.
The vice president’s former press secretary expressed optimism over several primary elections and the candidates being nominated in the various races, specifically pointing out John James, the Republican nominee for Senate in Michigan.
Lotter called James a “phenomenal candidate” and went on to list his numerous accomplishments which include time as an attack helicopter pilot and a businessman.
“I think John James has a real shot there [in Michigan], it’s going to be an uphill climb, Debbie Stabenow is a tenacious campaigner and she’s been very well engaged for a very long time, but I think we’ve got a good shot there if we can get the people of Michigan to realize that there’s a better way forward,” Lotter said.
Lotter said that “the only thing the Democrats are offering is resistance, impeachment and socialism,” and that Republicans have been the party of results.
“It’s results versus resistance,” Lotter said, noting that the message was so simple “we should put that on a bumper sticker.”
