Former President Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter but now Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said she is taking a break from the platform for its “negativity.”
The New York progressive shared with her followers Monday on Instagram after one person asked when she will be back on Twitter, the Independent reported.
Ocasio-Cortez said she shut off all social media when she tested positive with COVID following her trip to Florida.
“I found that when I went to open Twitter up again, it just like wasn’t making me feel,” she said. “So I mean literally I would go to open the app and almost felt like anxious.”

She slammed the Big Tech company for having “a lot of negativity” because “people kinda fight and gossip and all sort of stuff so much.”
Her last tweet was on Wednesday, but she assured her 8.6 million followers that she will be back.
“I’ll be back. Don’t worry,” she said. “Just feel like a break.”
