White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was verbally savaged on Fox News Sunday because she called out the Mainstream Media for refusing to ask tough questions about the Obama administration’s role in the Russian collusion hoax.
“I have to say that if Kayleigh McEnany had told Sam Donaldson and me what questions we should ask, that would not have gone well [for her],” host Chris Wallace said as he tossed to Goldberg.
Jonah Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Dispatch, took great delight in smacking around the female press secretary.
“I think her behavior is indefensible and grotesque,” Goldberg said in a rambling and often unintelligible rant.
He went on to call the accomplished and highly intelligent press secretary a “twitter troll who goes on attack, doesn’t actually care about doing the job they have.”
Goldberger said McEnany “wants to impress really an audience of one and make another part of official Washington another one of these essentially cable news and Twitter gladiatorial arenas. And it’s a sign of the defining of deviancy down in our politics and it’s only going to make things worse.”
Just to be clear – this ugly bit of Never Trump bashing took place on Fox News Channel, not CNN.
“Kayleigh McEnany isn’t acting like she is working for the public. She acts like she is what she used to be, which is: a spokesperson for the Trump campaign,” Wallace said.
Wow. On Fox News Sunday, Jonah Goldberg bashes Kayleigh McEnany’s work as press secretary as “indefensible and grotesque,” like a “Twitter troll” in cable-news combat. pic.twitter.com/p4O0H4Ljit
