Trump Tells Starnes Perdue Is Going to Beat Stacey Abrams After Maskless Photo
Former President Trump told the Todd Starnes Show Monday David Perdue is going to beat Democrat Stacey Abrams for governor after the infamous now-deleted tweet of a photo showing her unmasked in front of a classroom of masked children.
Trump called it a “double standard” and predicted Perdue is going to beat Abrams in November.
Perdue, the former Republican senator, who is running to unseat Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and beat gubernatorial candidate Abrams, released a 16-second video with the caption: “Unmask our kids.”
“This is the Georgia Stacey Abrams wants. This is the reality Brian Kemp has allowed,” the video said. “Unmask our kids.”
His campaign for governor has the slogan, “Stop Stacey. Save Georgia.”
The Abrams campaign responded to backlash Sunday calling criticism of the photo a “false political attack” and a “pathetic, transparent and sill attack.”
National radio host Todd Starnes responded to Abrams’ hypocrisy in an op-ed: “Rules for thee, but not for me. That’s the motto of the Democrat Party.”
