New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) explained Monday all the places unvaccinated citizens will not be able to go once the vaccine passport takes effect in the Big Apple.
The indoor coronavirus vaccine mandate launches Tuesday but will not be formally enforced until Sept. 13, the New York Daily News reports.
“This is absolutely strategic,” de Blasio told a reporter. “to fully participate in life in the city and to love and enjoy this city, go get vaccinated” and that vaccination is “something that allows you to enjoy all that is good in life.”
From movie theaters to gyms to coffee shops, the policy has already been criticized by many on the Left for disproportionately impacting minority communities that are largely not vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to the local news, workers at indoor venues will also be required to get the vaccine.
