A USA Today editorial condemned law-abiding gun owners who rushed to stop a gunman who opened fire inside the West Freeway Church of Christ in Texas.

Elvia Diaz praised Deacon Jack Wilson as a hero, but then she demanded to know why so many other parishioners in the church were armed.

“Jack Wilson is a hero alright,” she wrote. “It only took him six seconds to kill a gunman at a Texas church, saving countless lives. Unfortunately, that kind of split-second heroism has been turned into a PR tool by gun advocates.”

Unfortunately?

The reality is that a good man with a gun stopped a bad man with a gun. Period.

Ms. Diaz then took aim at the other church members who pulled out their firearms in response to the shooting.

“We know nothing about the at least six other parishioners who also appeared to draw their handguns,” she wrote. “And that’s terrifying.”

Terrifying?

Why is it terrifying that a group of responsible, law-abiding Christians stood up to an evil man inside their church house?

The greater concern is electing lawmakers like former Vice President Joe Biden who want to disarm law-abiding Americans. Had Biden been in charge, no one in that church would have been armed except the attacker.

Now, that would have be truly terrifying.
