There seems to be some political unrest down at Wally’s World, or at least on their Twitter account.
The beloved department store seems to have made a not so kind remark against Senator Josh Hawley.
Senator Hawley announced earlier today that he would be objecting the Electoral College results of the 2020 Presidential Election and he has faced backlash for this decision.
Countless Twitter users have made remarks against the Senator including actor Elijah Wood. He said, “there was NO fraud. save your reputation and stand down.”
Another user said, “Go ahead. Get your 2 hour debate. #soreloser”. That remark, however, came for the Walmart official Twitter account.
In an article on Newsweek, Casey Staheli, Walmart’s senior manager of national media relations, responded to the incident saying, “[t]he tweet was mistakenly posted by a member of our social media team who intended to publish this comment to their personal account”.
They also issued an apology to the Senator of Missouri. “We apologize to Senator Hawley for this error and any confusion about our position (on Hawley’s decision),” said Staheli.
The tweet has since been removed.
