Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, took to Twitter on Sunday to slam the Washington Post for even politicizing the death of President Trump’s brother, Robert, who died a day earlier.
REP. DOUG COLLINS: DEMS ARE THE PARTY OF UNREST
The Post’s headline read, “Robert Trump, Younger Brother of President Trump Who Filed Lawsuit Against Niece, Dies at 71.”
The fact that the paper would focus on the lawsuit as important enough to warrant an appearance in the headline seemed to remove all doubt that the hatred for the Trump family is contained at the paper to its opinion and news departments.
“This headline, on an ‘obituary’ no less, is sick,” Cruz wrote. “WaPo should be ashamed of itself. Robert Trump, RIP.”
Social media users were quick to point out the paper, owned by the world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos, was also panned a few months ago after the glowing title that it gave to one of the world’s top terrorists, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The paper called him an “Austere Religious Scholar.”

The BBC pointed out at the time that the paper was widely mocked on Twitter because the terrorist was one of the most heinous in history and his penchant to brutalizing women he held captive.
The New York Times interviewed one of his former hostages. She said he once summoned her and she thought she was going to be raped again. Instead, he brought her to his living room and showed her the execution of the American journalist James Foley.
Benny Johnson, the chief creative officer for Turning Point USA, the conservative group, tweeted out the Post’s headline, “The Washington Post couldn’t put politics aside for one night. They treated the leader of ISIS better than the brother of the President of the United States.”
Todd Starnes, the host of the “Todd Starnes Show,” said the Post’s headline helps explain why so many Americans “hate the mainstream media” that even uses dead people in an effort to damage Trump.
David N. Bossie, the president on Citizens United, told the program that the Post’s headline is simply the latest example of how politics has become devoid of a human side.
TODD STARNES’ NEW BOOK: “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation.”
Bossie called himself a “hard-charger” who has been, in the past, quick to call out President Obama. But, he said, at some point, the left “crossed the rubicon” because their hate for Trump outweighs their love for the country.
