Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) made a recommendation that members of the House Judiciary Committee recite the Pledge of Allegiance as a sign of unity.
Gaetz wanted to start each meeting with the pledge calling it a nice thing to do in the “spirit of national unity and national pride.”
House Democrats refused the offer.
“It’s unnecessary,” Nadler said – speaking in objection to the recommendation.
