House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) had to tell the audience gathered at the White House Tuesday to applaud for a line thanking President Biden.

“Mr. President, thank you for unifying and inspiring a vision of a stronger, fairer, safer future for all,” Pelosi said, praising Biden for his “extraordinary leadership.”
“That’s an applause line,” she said, adding, “Jill was applauding.”
