The White House corresponded with a national school board group five days before Attorney General Merrick Garland ordered the FBI to investigate parents at school board meetings, emails obtained by the Washington Free Beacon reveal.

Emails obtained through a FOIA request show the National School Board Association’s president and CEO sent a letter to Biden on Sept. 29 comparing concerned parents to “domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”

The emails show the White House asked for examples of threats against school board members, the Free Beacon reports.

Garland was grilled Thursday by Republicans in the House Judiciary Committee for the political appearance and timing of the order.

When asked by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) what evidence he had for the order to the DOJ, Garland cited the letter itself.
