The chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus blamed the Dallas Korean salon shooting on “white supremacy” even though the suspect charged is black.
Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH), flanked by dozens of Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), made the incorrect remarks on the steps of the Capitol.
“On Monday, three people in a Korean-owned hair salon in Dallas were gunned by yet another white supremacy replacement theorist,” Beatty said.
There’s a massive problem with the Ohio Democrat’s assertion about the so-called “white supremacy replacement theorist.”

The suspect in the Dallas shooting was black.
His name is Jeremy Smith, a 37-year-old man charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, who had previously harassed his Asian boss, according to the police record.
Smith allegedly walked into the Hair World Salon with a .22 caliber rifle on May 11 and opened fire on seven people, Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said.
Beatty blamed Republicans for the attack.
“Let’s hold people accountable, and let’s hold the right people accountable,” she said at the conclusion of her speech, pointing the finger at the other side of the aisle.
