President Biden mocked the acronym for the Asian community at a White House event Tuesday.
The audience laughed but it doesn’t seem like a very funny thing to be mocking Asian Americans.

Biden made the insensitive joke at the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, And Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month event where he called on the nation to “confront the ideology of hate” against the community.

Folks — and to celebrate the indispensable partnerships that are strengthening by the deep family ties and heritage and the values reflected in the AAN- — NH — PI — aye, aye, aye, aye, aye — (laughter) — community here in the United States. As they say in Claymont, Delaware, “All youse guys.”
