Flyer at “Peaceful Protest” Calls for Murder of all Republicans

So much for peaceful protests.

A Republican legislator from Colorado told the “Todd Starnes Radio Show” that he was troubled by flyers that were recovered at the state Capitol over the weekend that called on the killing of Republicans amid George Floyd protests.

FAKE NEWS! NYT STORY THAT BUSH ISN’T SUPPORTING TRUMP IS BOGUS

State Rep. Dave Williams, a Republican, said the Capitol building was badly vandalized during the protests over the death of Floyd in police custody and a lot of people “of goodwill” helped clean the building over the weekend. He said that while these volunteers were cleaning, they came across “disturbing” flyers that essentially called for violent altercations with Republicans.

He posted a photo of one of the flyers that read in part, “Republicans are ENSLAVING, KILLING the brown man! YOU ARE NEXT!!! WAR MONGERING REPUBLICANS UNDERSTAND ONLY ONE THING—WAR! IT’S TIME TO ELIMINATE THEM BEFORE THEY KILL US ALL! WE MUST ACT NOW TO SAVE THE WORLD!”

Williams said that the notes have been passed on and he “fully expects an investigation.”

Williams said that the response he received on Twitter was surprising. He said critics from the left claimed that he was the person behind the flyers, which he called “laughable to say the least.”

Williams posted the images and wrote, “Apparently this flyer was found outside the CO Capitol during the “peaceful” protests. Obviously, this is unacceptable to say the least. Encouraging violence & calling for the murder of Republicans is disgusting.”

One of the responses questioned the flyer’s authenticity and wrote, “I’m trying to imagine how profoundly stupid a person would have to be to think this is real.” Seth Masket, a political scientist at the University of Denver, posted, “May we please see the logs from your office photocopier over the last 24 hours?”

The Denver Post reported that the Colorado State Police was aware of the image of the flyer but has not seen any copies. The State Patrol said it is not investigating. The paper reported that Williams plans to give them a copy.

His tweet was retweeted by Michelle Malkin, who posted, “More death threats against Colorado conservatives.”

Williams, the first Latino elected as a representative for his district, is also a Trump surrogate in the state and the Trump director for the El Paso County GOP, according to his Twitter account. He said the backlash he received online was one of the more troubling aspects about the incident. He said just bringing the troubling notes to the public made him a target of criticism.

“I think because it goes against part of the narrative that the left wants to put out there,” he said.
