George Washington University (GWU) announced Wednesday it is axing the “Colonials” moniker and “Todd Starnes Show” callers had some clever suggestions for replacements.
Carol from North Georgia told host Todd Starnes it should be changed to the “Brandons.”
“Then we could all join in and scream, ‘Let’s go, Brandon!'” Carol said.
“Oh, wow,” Starnes said. “I love that, Carol. This could be it.”

“Then we could all get in on it,” she said.
“I love that. The George Washington Brandons,” Starnes responded.
GWU’s Board of Trustees made the announcement in a news release, stating the old nickname “can no longer serve its purpose as a name that unifies.”

“We have a great opportunity to conduct an inclusive process that will determine how we as a community want to come together around a unifying moniker and showcase ourselves as a distinguished and distinguishable university,” Wrighton said. “I am very excited for our next steps together.”
Perhaps the university will listen to callers like Carol in their decision.
