Hollywood bashed Christians and Caucasians at the 70th annual prime time Emmy Awards on NBC.
Co-host Michael Che wasted little time in attacking people of faith.
“My mother is not watching,” Che said. “She says she doesn’t like watching white award shows because you guys don’t thank Jesus enough. That’s true. The only white people that thank Jesus are Republicans and ex-crackheads.”
It was a real chuckle fest.
When the folks who play make believe for a living weren’t taking cheap shots at Christians. they were celebrating diversity. There was even a song and dance number called, “We Solved It,” touting their success in overcoming the diversity problem.
It’s important to understand that in Hollywood diversity is more important than talent.
At one point during the song and dance routine, a straight white guy asked to be included in their celebration of diversity — only to be told his kind was not welcome.
And just to make sure folks got the message, Tracy Morgan delivered this jaw-dropping declaration: “I’m only rooting for the black people.”
If I didn’t know better, I’d say diversity just might be a code word for culturally acceptable racism.
Ironically, for all their talk about diversity, an overwhelming number of the winners were whiter than mayonnaise.
By the way – the ratings for Monday night’s broadcast — hit an all time low. That’s what happens when white people and Christians turn off their television sets.
