Democrats are terrified because Attorney General William Barr is going to expose the government officials responsible for trying to sabotage the Trump Administration, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show.
That’s why House Democrats held a sham hearing and voted to hold the attorney general in contempt. They want to discredit Barr before he reveals the conspirators involved in the attempted takedown.
“This is about their fear that Bill Barr will actually apply the rule of law to everyone in the Department of Justice and FBI,” Huckabee said. “And if he does, there are some big people in big places that could have a big fall.”
As I told the governor, there were some pretty nefarious things happening during the previous administration. And the investigation could determine who gave the order to spy on the Trump campaign.
“Going back to the old line during Watergate, what did the president know and when did he know it,” Huckabee said.
He said that question should also be asked of James Comey, James Clapper, Susan Rice and John Brennan.
The governor referenced the “three C’s” of the investigation:
Conspiracy. “A conspiracy where multiple work together to try to discredit, if not destroy, Donald Trump.”
Cover Up. “A clear effort to cover their tracks and to dispose of all sorts of information and to lead people on a false goose chase.
Coup. “When your objective is to prevent a person from being elected and then to try to undo the election using the full power of the federal government – that’s a coup.”
President Trump and Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are also calling the attacks on the president a coup. Huckabee said this particular coup was not carried out with bayonets and bombs, but rather legal machinations.
They tried “to undo the results of the 2016 election which Donald Trump was elected president,” he said.
