Dr. Robert Jeffress slammed the Biden administration for its “pro-abortion, anti-religious liberty, pro-immorality” policies on the Todd Starnes Show Tuesday.

The pastor of First Baptist Dallas defended himself after he came under fire for slamming President Biden as heading the “ungodliest administration in U.S. history” during his sermon Sunday.

“Objectively, this is the most pro-abortion, anti-religious liberty, pro-immorality administration we’ve had in history,” he told host Todd Starnes. “And we shouldn’t be surprised when they come after Bible-believing churches and Bible-believing Christians.”

Jeffress explained he was preaching through the book of Acts about how persecution against Christians didn’t happen all at once.

“It started with the marginalization of Christians, then the isolation of Christians that led finally to the extermination of Christians,” Jeffress said. “And I said we shouldn’t expect anything less. Jesus said, ‘In this world, you’re going to have tribulation,’ and I believe that the Biden administration is starting a persecution not against all people who call themselves Christians, but against Bible-believing Christians.”

The Texas pastor urged people to look at Biden’s policies.

“He is the most pro-abortion president in history…arguing for the right of women to murder their children in the womb,” Jeffress said.

“He’s pushing this transgender agenda,” he said, pointing to Rachel Levine, assistant secretary for health, “a man prancing around in a skirt, acting like a woman. I mean that is completely ungodly.”

“And now he’s rescinding some of the executive orders on religious liberty that were signed by President Trump, and we see him going after organizations that preach and teach biblical truth,” Jeffress said.

Jeffress also said “the IRS has been weaponized to go against conservative Christian groups,” like Christians Engaged in Texas that was initially denied tax-exempt status for telling people to vote biblical convictions.

The “Invincible” author concluded: “Now I believe what’s going to happen, they’re going to go after churches next.”

Starnes agreed, saying the government feels “emboldened and empowered, knowing that they were able to convince a lot of so-called evangelicals to shut down their churches during the pandemic.”

Below is a rushed transcript of Dr. Robert Jeffress’ interview on the Todd Starnes Radio Show:

Starnes: [00:24:20] n here. Now I want you to just back up a moment. Who did the IRS target there? [00:24:24][4.1]

Jeffress: [00:24:26] This organization Christians engaged. It’s a Texas organization. It tries to encourage Christians to get out and vote. They do not support individual candidates. They just want to get Christians out to vote. Their quote biblical convictions. But the IRS initially refused it and actually sent a letter that I posted in an Op-Ed I did. In other news outlets posted that that said, when you tell people to vote biblical convictions, that’s the same as Republican beliefs and therefore you are not tax-exempt. Now I believe what’s going to happen, they’re going to go after churches next. [00:25:04][38.4]

Starnes: [00:25:05] Oh, look, I have no doubt about that, Dr Jeffress, and the reason they’re going to do that is they feel emboldened and empowered, knowing that they were able to convince a lot of so-called evangelicals to shut down their churches during the pandemic. Many of them have not even, you know, I have not really recovered from that. So I think that the government now knows that, that some churches in America are more than willing to shut down if they’re told to by the government. [00:25:33][28.0]

Jeffress: [00:25:35] Well, and again, I’m saying, just objectively, this is the most pro-abortion, anti-religious liberty, pro-immorality administration we’ve had in history. And we shouldn’t be surprised when they come after Bible-believing churches and Bible-believing Christians. [00:25:51][16.2]

Starnes: [00:25:52] Unbelievable. Well, look, I thought it was a great sermon and and I’m sure it made some folks feel a little uneasy. But that’s the whole point, right? Maybe somebody. That’s right. [00:26:02][9.8]

Jeffress: [00:26:03] And the friendly atheist website just posted my article and I tell you, I am so honored to be attacked by the friendly atheist. [00:26:12][8.2]

Starnes: [00:26:12] Yeah, they’re calling you a MAGA cultist. [00:26:14][1.8]

Jeffress: [00:26:17] Well, that is absolutely foolish. I am a worshiper of Jesus Christ and no one else, but I am happy to stand up as many other Christians are for what are not Republican values. These are Christian values. [00:26:32][14.6]

Starnes: [00:26:33] Amen. Preach, preach, preach. All right. Dr. Robert Jeffress, author of the incredible new book Invincible. You can get yourself a copy of that at your favorite bookstore. Or if you want to just go to our live show blog, there’s a link for you there to get that that incredible book. All right, Dr. Jeffers, we appreciate the great sermon. Appreciate you coming on the program today. [00:26:52][19.8]

Jeffress: [00:26:53] Thanks for having me, Todd. [00:26:54][0.9]
