The alleged attempt by Obama-era officials to undermine President Trump’s White House could prove to be 10 times worse than President Richard Nixon’s Watergate fallout, Jerry Falwell Jr., said Friday on the “Todd Starnes Radio Show.”

Falwell, the president of Liberty University, said these officials are “scared to death” about what will be uncovered as U.S. Attorney John Durham continues to investigate the FBI and the beginning stages of the Russian collusion investigation.
“My dad used to say, ‘You don’t know how long a snake is until you kill it.’ Well, he’s killing that snake,” Falwell said, referring to Durham. He continued, “I think Obamagate is 10 times worse than Watergate.”
Falwell said there was a shock in Washington when Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016, and that shock eventually became fear over what Trump intended to do when he talked about “draining the swamp.” Falwell said these Democrats were likely worried that “all of their misdeeds” would become public.”
“So they scrambled to try and get Trump before the inauguration and, it is so obvious to me,” he said. He said there was a mad dash to get Trump before they were exposed.
Trump has recently seized on the Justice Department’s decision to drop its charges against Michael Flynn, his first national security adviser, and the subsequent fallout. Since then, the names of the Obama-era “unmaskers” were released along with the transcripts from the House impeachment investigation that led to the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board lashing into Rep. Adam Schiff who they determined should never be believed again.
Hogan Gidley, the deputy press secretary for the White House, told Todd Starnes on Thursday that the attempt to snare Trump was akin to a “bloodless coup.”
“The swamp is being drained and you’re watching it in real-time, and I’ve got to tell you, the swamp creatures are nervous, they’re quite concerned and they should be,” Gidley said.
Gidley told the radio show that the White House was surprised by the recent revelations, but also expected that the “Deep State” was at work.
“Think about what would have happened if Donald Trump didn’t win this election, what we wouldn’t know about the Deep State,” he said
