Gov Mike Huckabee says the Colorado protesters who tore down the American flag and raised the Mexican flag outside a detention center holding illegal aliens committed an act of treason.
“To raise the flag of a foreign country on government property is really an act of nothing less than treason,” the former Arkansas governor said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show. “I know that’s a harsh word, but when you basically say our country should fall and this country (Mexico) is the one we should pay allegiance to, then I’m with the president, get the heck out.”
Huckabee Says It’s Treason
The protestors in Aurora also tore down the Colorado state flag and set it ablaze and they later raised a desecrated Blue Lives Matter flag.
Rocky Mountain PBS filmed video of people shouting, “burn that s***,” referring to the American flag.
The Aurora Police Department refused to intervene – calling the heinous act a peaceful protest. However, after national outrage ensued, the police department later announced they were investigating and searching for suspects.
Gov. Huckabee said it was “beyond my capacity to think that anybody would stand by and watch” Old Glory being taken down.
