Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) said there is a “coordinated effort” to take down President Trump that includes members of the Department of Justice as well as sitting ambassadors.
“It’s time we show the American people what’s out there,” Meadows told Sean Hannity on Fox News Channel. “I think when the American people have seen what I’ve seen they will judge for themselves and know that this has all been a hoax.”
Sara Carter, one of the nation’s top investigative journalists, said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show that the deep state plot even extends to the State Department.
“These are people who have for the most part been very aligned with Hillary Clinton and with the Obama administration,” Carter said.
She said the American people will be very surprised when they learn just how vast the plot was to take down the Trump administration.
“There were American ambassadors involved in this,” she said. “There are still lots of questions left to be answered.”
Meanwhile, a majority of the American people believe the Mueller investigation has been nothing but a witch hunt. More than half of Americans, according to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll.
“Americans in general – we’re not suckers,” she said. “And so I think what we’re seeing now is that the American public saying look we’re tired of this.”
The Mueller investigation is backfiring, she said.
“There is no evidence that the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia,” Carter said. “No matter which way his enemies try to dice it and slice it – they just can’t prove it because it is based on lies. The false narratives they’ve been spinning for nearly three years and frankly, their constant badgering of everything Trump, is exhausting.”
